Fairy Goodmothers is a 501(c)(3) organization, a recognized nonprofit by the Columbus Foundation, and a recipient of GuideStar’s Candid Platinum Seal.

We are an all-volunteer organization dedicated to promoting confidence and self-esteem in Central Ohio (and beyond!) High School youth by providing formal dresses and accessories for prom to those lacking the means to purchase them personally.

Fairy Goodmothers is an all-volunteer organization.

Fairy Goodmothers has approximately 500 volunteers involved throughout the year and has gifted more than 20,000 gowns from its first Cinderella’s Closet in 2006 through the 2025 prom season. All this joy resulted from the vision of five friends on a group trip to Chicago.

What is the Cinderella's Closet Boutique?

The Cinderella's Closet Boutique is Fairy Goodmothers' signature event in late winter/early spring before prom. We invite high school students in need of a prom dress and accessories to make an appointment to "shop" free of charge. Each student is paired with a Personal Shopper to help them find a dress that fits, flatters, and makes them look and feel their best!
