Join a Committee

Fairy Goodmothers has several committees that work on the many facets of running our organization. The committee model keeps our volunteers focused on important work in a variety of areas. Which one of these interests you most?

Note: As we are in the midst of Cinderella's Closet Boutique season, our Board is hard at work preparing for and managing the event! We will be reviewing and reaching out for committee interest in late-April/early-May 2026! Thank you for understanding!

Volunteer Committee

This committee is responsible for recruiting and training volunteers to work at the Cinderella’s Closet Boutique. As a member, you will coordinate volunteers working in various roles at the Boutique, secure food donations for the event and assist with check-in and check-out procedure.

Cinderella’s Closet Boutique Committee

This committee is responsible for planning, setting up, and operating the Cinderella's Closet Boutique. As a member, you will assist in locating a space to operate the Boutique (if needed), solicit businesses for gift bag items, set up, clean up, and decorating of the Boutique.  You are also required to help staff the Boutique during each weekend it is open in the late winter/early spring.

Inventory & Dress Drive Committee

This committee collects, sorts and tags donated dresses and accessories and partners with community members interested in hosting dress drives. As a member, you will attend regular work sessions throughout the year to sort, tag and inventory donated dresses, jewelry and other accessories. These sessions are typically once a month on a weekend morning, and take place at our storefront at The Shops at Worthington Place.

Fundraising Committee

This committee raises funds for our annual operating budget and the purchase of dresses for the Boutique. As a member, you will assist in planning and hosting Party for Prom. This entertaining, annual formal dinner and dance is our biggest fundraiser of the year. You will assist in soliciting sponsorships and acquiring silent auction items, and bring your innovative fundraising ideas to the Board.

School/Community Outreach Committee

This committee manages our outreach list for schools, media, and community partners along with the prom calendar for schools in the Central Ohio area to help us plan the perfect dates for our Boutique. They create informational packets about Fairy Goodmothers and the Cinderella's Closet Boutique, deliver them to schools and other partners, answer questions from school officials, and help the Cinderella's Closet Boutique plan our mid-week Group/School Day.

Marketing & Communications Committee

This committee develops messaging about Fairy Goodmothers for emails, newsletters, social media posts, and website content.  Content may be targeted to students, volunteers, and/or supporters with the intention of raising awareness of our organization and of Cinderella’s Closet Boutique.  As a member, you will assist in writing press releases, contacting local media, managing the website and administering our social media.
