Volunteer at Cinderella’s Closet Boutique

NOTE: During the Cinderella's Closet Boutique, we require that volunteers on hand at the pop-up shop are female or female identifying, aged 21+, due to the setup of the dress floor and dressing area.

We do have volunteer opportunities throughout the year that have a lower age requirement (all are welcome!), and we post them here! Don't fret, there's something for everyone!

When Cinderella's Closet Boutique opens in the Spring each year, Fairy Goodmothers relies on its generous volunteers to help make it a success. Having enough volunteer Personal Shoppers, Runners, Greeters, Seamstresses and others is absolutely critical.

  • You will be paired with a high school student and help them find the perfect dress for prom - taking fit, style, color, and prom themes into consideration! This is a great role for someone outgoing, loves fashion, and wants a more hands-on role at the Boutique. 

    • Note: This is a role that can involve a lot of standing and walking around. Please keep that in mind when signing up, and please wear comfortable shoes!

  • You will be making sure dresses are laced, zipped, hung on hangers, and ready to be tried on by our students! You help keep the Boutique racks organized and tidy. This is a good role for someone who likes to be on the move and takes satisfaction in an organized space. 

    • Note: There will be some heavy lifting on and off of the dress racks - some ball gowns are HEAVY. If you are on the shorter side, it will be tough to hang dresses on the 80+ inch high racks!

  • As a Floater, you will rotate around the Boutique, helping out with various roles as needed. This is a perfect role for someone who enjoys variety and isn't shy about taking on different tasks throughout the day!

    • Note: This is a role that can involve a lot of standing and walking around. Please keep that in mind when signing up, and please wear comfortable shoes!

  • As a Bagger, you will carefully place dresses in dress bags, taking care to minimize wrinkles and ensuring that the dress is protected on its journey home. You will also help the Personal Shoppers make sure they document the dress inventory number and other information on each student's registration cards!

    • Note: This is a role that can have many busy periods punctuated with some downtime. 

  • As a Jewelry & Accessories Assistant, you help students select jewelry, handbags, and wraps to help accentuate their outfits. You will also help keep the area tidy and stocked up with available jewelry and accessory items.

    • Note: This is a role that can have many busy periods punctuated with some downtime.

We will also need assistance during the event with check out, escorting students and parents between the Boutique and waiting area, stuffing goody bags, and other needs that pop up during the day. No job is too small!
